The Journey Begins

Hello everyone!

My name is Greg and I split my time between southern Wisconsin and Nashville, TN. I spend a lot of time traveling and that gives me way too much time to think. I wanted an avenue to get these thoughts out of my head without using the social media platforms as my soap box if you will. Actually, I don’t even want a soap box. These are just my thoughts being put in to typed words. They’re neither right nor wrong in a lot of cases.

I believe that problems can be solved with actual dialogue. I hate seeing someone make a decent point and then they get torn apart by someone else whose opinion is different from theirs. Not constructively torn apart, but insulted and called every name under the sun. That’s not at all what I’m interested in. I can pretty well guarantee that some people are going to hate what I have to say, and since they don’t know how else to react, I’ll just be called a bunch of names and they’ll go on feeling great about themselves. Fine, no problem, I can live with that. I’m really looking forward to those who take what I have to say and then constructively agree or disagree with me. Disagreeing is just fine! But at least try to explain your perspective to me so I can have a better understanding of where you’re coming from. Calling me an idiot doesn’t do anyone any good. Tell me why I’m an idiot.

I’m going to share my perspective on an array of topics. Everyone who reads anything these days immediately starts looking for “what side of the fence” the person is on politically. If you want to know where I stand politically I need you to imagine a 3 year old with a box of crayons and a coloring book. As they scribble a vast array of colors across the image in the book, not even paying attention to where the lines on the picture are, that’s my political views. Sometimes I may come across as a conservative, sometimes I may seem liberal, sometimes I may make you wonder what planet I’m actually on. That’s the way I like it. I don’t want to be tied to any particular group of opinions. I would like to take each issue individually and see if there’s middle ground to be had.

If you care to see what goes on in this head of mine we’re going to touch on topics all across the board. We’re going to wade in to the murky waters of gun control, we’ll talk about current events, we’ll talk about what my dogs did to make me want to put my head under water and scream, or we may talk about a restaurant that I’ve tried. Come along if you’d like, there’s room.
